Education Interactive has been presenting Forensic Science workshops to high schools throughout Australia since 2005
During our interactive Forensic Science incursions students examine evidence recovered from the crime scene, suspects and victims. Theories are developed, tested and accepted or rejected as they interpret the evidence. Students use deductive reasoning to solve the crime by building a case to prove who did it, what happened, how and why.

This case highlights the importance of cyber safety with social networking, the dangers of drink spiking and the consequences of taking risks. Who did Sally meet in the park and how did she die?
THE SCENE: A 17 year old school girl is found lying face down on the ground at the back of a park pavilion. The girl’s parents reported her missing the previous day when she failed to return home from school. There are signs of a struggle and a substantial wound to the head appears to be the cause of death.
THE EVIDENCE: Students examine the crime scene, analyse evidence collected and interpret the forensic test results including blood typing, footprints, hair and fibre evidence, DNA matching, fingerprints, toxicology, digital data and much more.
THE OUTCOME: There are three suspects including Sally’s ex-boyfriend and none have a solid alibi. Using their worksheets, students must interpret the evidence and build a case by eliminating innocent suspects. As they piece together the clues and identify the murderer they uncover the story of what happened to Sally and why.
