Summit Fabrications has extensive experience in running and fully purge welding stainless steel pipes within the food manufacturing industry for low pressure applications which is a standard required when dealing with the production of food items. If a join between two lengths of pipe is welded under normal welding conditions then an unclean penetration of the weld metal occurs and creates a breeding ground for bacteria that results in the contamination of any ingredient that passes through them. Purge welding provides a clean atmosphere on the inside of the join which prevents any contaminated penetration from occurring.
